WETLANDS COURSES

Simplified sludge management, focusing on agricultural utilization and operational simplicity.
Sludge is a resource.
nutrient.
Its end should be
regenerate soils.
Our solutions are based on a balance between circular economy and operational profitability, exploring the potential of wetland technology and traditional treatment arrangements to bring technical, economic, and socio-environmental coherence to operations.
The management of sewage sludge, from dewatering to final disposal, accounts for approximately 60% of the operational cost of a wastewater treatment plant and has high management demands. Therefore, the sludge management strategy is crucial for the technical, environmental, and economic viability of a sanitation operation. Furthermore, biological sludge, frequently wasted in landfills or disposed of improperly, is a valuable resource that needs to be reintegrated into the soil.
The soil is alive! The silt is life! The perfect match! Organic matter that improves the physical, chemical, and biological conditions of the soil. Nutrients that enhance soil recovery. We need to close the cycles!
Integrating Sanitary Engineering and Agronomy, our team of specialists develops solutions tailored to the needs of controlled sewage sludge treatment and disposal. Our systems combine the most advanced constructed wetland technology with classic engineering techniques, realizing concepts of circularity, GHG reduction, water resource protection, and soil remediation.

Treating sewage is about managing sludge.
And we are aware of the challenges of sludge management.
Wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) operations with flow rates up to 30 L/s present very particular challenges. Our work focuses on bringing sustainability to these operations, with tailored technological arrangements, emphasizing simplification and circularity.

Composting plants
Services offered: Feasibility studies, detailed design, implementation, and assisted operation.
Composting plants are a great alternative for businesses that intend to generate large volumes of material for agricultural application. In addition to sewage sludge, composting plants should receive sources of structural material and can receive other industrial waste or additional inputs for blending and creating specific products for soil correction and agricultural application.

Prolonged alkaline stabilization
EAP (Extended Alkaline Stabilization) is a classic and very safe technique for stabilizing and sanitizing sludge. Curing yards have smaller footprints compared to UGL Wetlands and composting, making them excellent alternatives where space is limited.
In addition to being rich in organic matter, limed sludge is rich in calcium, an important soil amendment with agronomic value.
Controlled disposal in the soil
In our view, "final destination" is a term that should be replaced by "new beginning"! The controlled disposal of sludge in the soil is a globally established technique that embodies the concepts of Circular Economy. Sewage sludge is a material rich in organic matter, and its application to soils is a practice to combat one of the biggest environmental problems of our era: soil loss.
Whether for enhancing agricultural crops or restoring degraded soils, the controlled disposal of sludge in the soil is a beautiful intertwining of sanitary engineering and agronomy techniques.

Assisted operation or outsourced operation
Our team is prepared to give you the necessary support for your operation. Whether it's operational assistance contracts or outsourced operations, the first step is a diagnosis of the situation. The process in question needs to be analyzed.
