Consulting | Operational Diagnosis at the Morro do Ferro Wastewater Treatment Plant (SAAE Oliveira - MG)

In this project, the company Wetlands Construídos was contracted by SAAE of Oliveira-MG to carry out an operational diagnosis of the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in the Morro do Ferro district. The WWTP consists of prefabricated modular reactors employing the UASB + Anaerobic Biological Filter arrangement.

The services consisted of investigations of the implemented technological arrangement, seeking potential construction and operational problems that led to the low efficiency of the WWTP. All sizing parameters were verified based on real operational conditions. Despite being a process that is inherently inefficient, deviations were identified that further reduced the efficiency of the WWTP. Among these, the lack of a sludge disposal structure, the absence of biogas combustion structures, poor quality in the manufacture of the three-phase separators, among others, were observed.

The actions recommended by the Wetlands Construídos team were implemented by SAAE of Oliveira, which allowed for the improvement of the efficiency of the Morro do Ferro WWTP.
